Research areas
Dr. rer. nat. Inga Tiemann researches and teaches in the field of precision poultry and livestock farming, especially with regard to individual animal-specific data. After studying biology and psychology in Düsseldorf and Duisburg, completing her doctorate on tracking methods and ethological applications in chickens, managing a non-university research institution and a post-doctoral phase at the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, she has been setting up the poultry department at the Frankenforst campus since 2018. The research topics are clearly oriented towards the digital recording of primarily animal welfare and behavioural parameters. A particular focus here is the dual-use chicken. She has been part of the agricultural technology team since 2022 and supports the research area Animal Welfare and Precision Poultry and Livestock Farming.Curriculum vitae
