Environment and climate protection
Agricultural animal production is responsible for various airborne emissions through livestock housing and manure management. In addition to odours, dusts and aerosols, these include above all the climate-relevant gases methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) as well as the environmentally relevant ammonia (NH3).
The aim of our research in the field of environmental and climate protection is to determine the causes and source strengths of these emissions and to develop and evaluate mitigation measures and strategies.
